The Dancing With the Stars judging panel has remained the same for 16 seasons, but come fall, we may see at least one new face.
On the heels of rumors that Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, and Carrie Ann Inaba won’t all return for Season 17, a new report hints that a fourth judge will be added. Considering that other popular reality competition shows like American Idol and The Voice have four judges, this isn’t surprising, and could be a good way to incorporate a celeb aspect to the panel without a total revamp.
This new intel comes straight from pro Karina Smirnoff, though notably, it’s just the DWTS veteran’s opinion.
“Bring in someone like JLo to judge us, to give a little bit of a new criticism, a new perspective,” she told The New York Post. “I think four judges. American Idol has four. The Voice has four.”
However, nothing has been decided yet. “We are just starting to figure it out now,” producer Deena Katz told The Post before the May 21 live finale. She did note that they will continue going after former president Bill Clinton again this season, revealing, “He will get an offer every season. Every season.”
