One of our biggest questions for Season 16 is whether or not our favorite pros will be back for more ballroom action. We know reigning Mirror Ball champ Derek Hough most likely won’t be back next season, but what about Peta Murgatroyd? Wetpaint Entertainment recently caught up with the pro at the Beverly Hills Lifestyle magazine anniversary party, and we asked Peta how she felt about the new show format and who she’d like to see judge.
Wetpaint Entertainment: Will you be back next season in the fall?
Peta Murgatroyd: I don’t know yet, but I hopefully I am. We don’t find out until the last second.
How do you feel about all of the new changes they’re bringing to the show?
I actually think it's going to be a good thing. Everyone is trying to stay positive about it. I believe that it’s a lot to ask the viewers to watch three hours in a week of dancing. So I think two hours, we’re going to combine all of the audiences together, and we’re probably going to get a bigger audience and a younger one at that. It’s going to be a jam-packed show as well. It’s going to have everything you know, with an elimination at the end, too!
Are there anything that you would change or that you think could be better about the show?
I think they’re going to have it taken care of. They’re going to make it the best it can possibly be. Whether they change the judges or not they’re going to have to obviously change the format of the show a little bit. But they’re going to have some new and exciting celebs next season, so its going to be good.
Who would you like to see be a new judge?
I loved having Paula [Abdul] actually for that one week, a couple of seasons ago now. I think she would be an amazing alternate judge.
What do you think, Dancing With the Stars fans? Would you like to see Paula come back and judge? Sound off in the comments!
