Dancing With the Stars Season 17 is still a month away, but that hasn't stopped the casting rumors from circulating. Paula Deen is all anyone has been able to talk about lately, but recently Hollywood Life added another name to the possibles list: Indy 500 champion Tony Kanaan.

The 38-year-old Brazilian racing whiz told Hollywood Life that he's "in talks" about joining the show, adding that "if it’s the right time, I’ll definitely accept it and go try it." If his word is anything to go by, it sounds like he might be a strong contender for a spot on the ballroom floor.

Obviously, race car drivers have had success on the show in the past — Helio Castroneves (who also happens to be Brazilian) won Season 5, and came back for All-Stars (where he fared less well).

We'll be honest: We don't know a ton about Tony. However, if he can bring the same combo of charm and talent that Helio did, we'd be happy to see him give dancing a shot! He later told the Indy Star that he met with a casting coordinator, but nothing is official until the September 4th cast announcement on Good Morning America.

Would you want to see Tony on Season 17? Sound off in the comments below.
