Dancing With the Stars 2013 Season 17, Week 2 (Monday, September 23) had Christina Milian and Mark Ballas tackling the Paso Doble. However, they changed things up by using a familiar and modern song: Lady Gaga’s “Applause.”

Surrounded by smoke, the two started on thrones before spinning and strutting across the ballroom in fun black costumes. They certainly had the audience applauding with quick steps and claps of their own, putting their own flair on the dance style.

The judges loved it as much as the crowd. Bruno said Lady Gaga would approve of their version, even dubbing Christina a little monster! When he claimed she didn’t nail it, Christina fought for the fact that she rocked it perfectly. “You nailed every quirky move. Killed it!” Carrie Ann exclaimed.

Len appreciated that the steps were recognizable and that it was “fierce” and “terrific,” so it was no surprise they landed two 8s and a 9, giving them 25 points total.
