On Dancing With the Stars Season 17 Week 5 the stars all had to recall their most memorable year. Brant Daugherty picked 2009, the year his father died of lymphoma. He told a touching story about how his father always supported him in his dream of being an actor. He and Peta Murgatroyd danced a Contemporary dance to "Your Song," by Elton John to celebrate his father's influence in his life. (No, we're not crying. OK, maybe a little.)

Brant (who was shirtless, because Peta loves us), danced with passion and confidence. Was the choreography a little thrashy? Yes. Did we mind? Not much, no.

Len called it "terrific," complimenting the passion and chemistry in the dance. Bruno complimented Brant on throwing himself into that dance without fear, also complimenting his acting (well, he is an actor). Carrie Ann agreed, saying every movement, every muscle contraction, was coming from a place of passion, and that brought the whole dance together.

Score: 9, 9, 9. That earned a big smile from Brant.
