On Dancing With the Stars Season 17 Week 5 the stars had to chose their most memorable year, and Leah Remini chose this most recent year, AKA the year she finally left Scientology. She talked about how she didn't know how strong she was until she had to face this challenge (though she didn't explicitly say what that challenge was), which she for her daughter. Tony Dovolani was concerned about choreographing a Contemporary routine, but Leah had the idea that she should be a marionette that breaks away from her puppieter. They used Katy Perry's "Roar."
It was certainly a passionate performance: Leah's triumphant feelings came through loud and clear, that's for sure. The concept definitely worked.
Carrie Ann complimented the passion, but thought the lifts felt a little rough, and broke up the flow of the dance. Len agreed, complementing the concept and some of the moments, but not the lifts. Bruno got up to shout about how great it was that she was fighting back, and loved the storytelling.
Source: 7, 7, 8, for 22/30. Leah said "you don't want to know" what she's thinking, but added that she's proud that she tried.
