Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba is the self-declared Lift Police, always noting any feet that come off the ground during dances where they’re verboten. But last night, she may have needed policing of her own!

Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff danced a Foxtrot on Season 17, Week 5 (October 14), and Carrie Ann saw a lift in the very beginning. She felt like Corbin just picked Karina up, forgetting that that's not allowed. Karina insisted her right foot was on the ground. Tom Bergeron jumped in to say maybe they could do a slow-motion recap later, which could affect the score. Carrie Ann wasn't sure that was allowed, but said if she was wrong and could add a point, she would.

Carrie Ann gave the dance a 9, suggesting it would've been a full 10 if she hadn't docked a point for the lift. Mark Ballas tweeted during the show, "Show the replay looked like @Karina_Smirnoff foot was on the ground to me.. Great job @corbinbleu #dwts."

Later in the show, Tom updated to say the judges’ scores are based on what they see and that stands. No instant replay.

After the show, Carrie Ann tweeted about the lift issue. "Sounds like I was wrong about Corbin and Karina. haven't seen playback yet. But I apologize if I was wrong! :) @Karina_Smirnoff @corbinbleu." She later added, "Good eyes everyone! :)" but also commented on the official rules. "Tom was wrong about offering a point back. That is not the way it works but sure I would give them a point back if it were in the rules."

You can watch the video below and decide if her foot is down or not. Maybe Karina's dress and the dark lights hid everything from the judges' perspective, but it does seem like her foot was on the ground at the start. It doesn't really matter for Corbin and Karina, since they already tied at the top of the Leaderboard and probably didn't need the extra point, but it could come up again later and affect a different couple.

What do you think about the rule of the judges' score standing, even if they base the score on an inaccurate technical assessment? Sound off below!

Dancing With the Stars airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
