Kirstie Alley’s life doesn’t always revolve around Scientology; sometimes, like ours, it revolves around Dancing With the Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

Two-time DWTS star Kirstie is a member of the Church of Scientology, and recently, a rumor spread that she was skipping watching Season 17 because of current contestant Leah Remini’s very public split with the church. Kirstie told Zap2it “there’s no fact to that,” and even though she isn’t watching this season, it has nothing to do with Leah.

"I even went on record about six months ago saying I didn't think I was going to watch it this season, just because of the time commitment,” she said. She’s currently executive producing and preparing to star in her sitcom Kirstie, which premieres December 4 on TV Land. On top of that, like a lot of fans, she thinks DWTS just isn’t the same without Maks. Kirstie was actually Maks’s last partner, when they competed last fall on All-Stars.

"Next season, maybe Maks will be back, and maybe I'll watch," Kirstie told Zap2it. "You do the show with someone, and you're loyal to that person. Then you watch and see them dancing with someone else, and you might be like, 'I don't like the person they're dancing with.' But it doesn't matter, because you have to stay loyal. I can't be rooting for Derek [Hough] if Maks is still in it."

But what about Maks’ brother, Val Chmerkovskiy? She could watch to root (and vote) for his partners. Anyway, it sounds like she’s willing to make time for Maks, but no one else. It’s too bad — she’s missing a pretty good season!

Are you also hopeful that Maks might be back next spring? Sound off below, and catch DWTS on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
