Their performance was sultry and fun, and we really saw Leah come into her own with fast footwork and a confidence we haven’t seen this season. When the camera panned to the judges, you could see that they were impressed by the change, too. Though it wasn’t as fast as some other contestants’ Quicksteps, they had their hops and spins under control, ending with her atop the judges’ table!
“That might be the biggest turnaround I’ve ever seen,” Carrie Ann Inaba said. “It transformed you into an elegant confidence — it makes you look like you’ve been dancing your whole life.”
Len Goodman started his commentary by warning other contestants that they have to maintain hold throughout a Quickstep, but he only had good things to say about Leah and Tony. “Last week you shot down, this week way up,” Len said, referencing chutes and ladders.
Bruno definitely agreed. “Look at you, Miss Goody Two-Shoes! No crying no more for you because you can do it and you proved it tonight,” he exclaimed. “It was so Ginger Rogers and you were just another Leah.”
They scored 9s across the board, landing them with 27 points.
