Have we lost our minds? Jack Osbourne thinks so.
He's only joking (we think), but after Brant Daugherty’s elimination on Dancing With the Stars Season 17, Week 8, he talked to On the Red Carpet about the trend this season for higher-scoring dancers to be eliminated before celebs who seem to struggle more to keep up. OTRC said it shows America is going back to the original idea of supporting people who are still learning to dance.
Jack laughed and added, "It also says that America is completely insane if they're keeping Jack Osbourne and Bill Engvall still in the race."
His pro partner Cheryl Burke piped in: "Why?"
Jack: "'Cause we're like [does funky dance move] 'We can't dance but we're still dancing!'"
Cheryl: "Excuse me, you're what the show's all about."
Jack: "I know. It's true."
Cheryl: "If I were a viewer at home, I'd vote for Bill. Not you. But I'd vote for Bill."
Jack: "I would vote for Bill, probably. I don't think I would vote for me. I hate me. We won't go there, though."
Cheryl laughed, concluding, "That is way too deep."
Jack’s self-loathing aside, everyone in the cast seems to really support low-scoring Bill Engvall and Emma Slater, and judge Carrie Ann Inaba even called Bill the mayor of Dancing With the Stars. It would be a surprise, to be honest, if Jack won Season 17, but at this point it wouldn’t even be too shocking if Bill ended up with his own Mirror Ball trophy.
What do you think? Do you agree with Cheryl that Jack and Bill are what the show is all about, or do you think viewers are crazy to keep the less talented dancers around? Sound off below.
Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
