Time to celebrate, Maksim Chmerkovskiy fans. The bad boy of the ballroom is back on the Dancing With the Stars Season 17 semifinals — as a judge!

A recent ABC press release announced the news, explaining that Maks will be judging alongside Carrie Ann, Len, and Bruno in Week 10, which presumably means that scores will be out of 40 instead of the traditional 30 this week.

Maks's rep confirmed the news exclusively to Wetpaint Entertainment, saying, "It's true. He will be guest-judging this Monday's episode. He's very excited, especially since it's the semi-finals. While he is upset he won't have the chance to judge his brother, Val, he is looking forward to being part of this exciting season. He's taking his duties very seriously."

When we talked to Maks back in June, he expressed a strong interest in returning to the show as a judge. According to Maks, he won't belittle anybody — he may be outspoken, but he's not mean.

"I've called out the judges before for saying certain things I didn't think were in the spirit of the show," he explained. "If I'm ever given the position to judge, I'm in. Watch out, yes, but it's never going to be derogatory."

We're excited to see Maks take a turn in the judge's chair. With his years of experience as a pro and his tendency not to sugarcoat the truth, we're guessing he'll bring a sharp, perceptive point of view to the Semifinals.
