As most Dancing With the Stars fans have probably heard by now, the bad boy of the ballroom is back, baby. That's right: Maksim Chmerkovskiy is returning to help judge the Season 17 Semifinals.

While he's not a legendary superstar, Maks's return is a bigger deal for some Dancing With the Stars devotees than even Cher's appearance. He's one of the most polarizing pros in the show's history, and whether you love him or loathe him, you're bound to have an opinion on seeing him at the judges' table.

Here at Wetpaint Entertainment, we're excited to see Maks back in a new role. He's made it clear that he intends to take judging very seriously, and has said in the past that if he were to ever act as a judge, he'd make sure not to belittle the contestants. We thought having a pro's perspective when Julianne Hough judged was very interesting, so we're excited to see another pro holding the paddles.

We also know that Maks will not be afraid to be honest. We'll be interested to see how his scores match up against Bruno, Carrie Ann, and Len's. We wouldn't be surprised if he's more willing to buck the trend than either Julianne or Cher seemed to be.

Plus — it's Maks! He's sexy, he's funny, and we'll never say no to seeing him on our TVs.

What about you: are you glad Maks is back, or are you already dreading tuning in on Monday?
