If you haven’t kept up with Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi since Jersey Shore ended last year, you may still think of her as the lovable meatball for whom “diet” or “exercise” would have been a four-letter word. But avid followers of Nicole know that the reality star has since become a bit of a health nut, showing off her slimmed-down figure and fitness routine on social media. So when the pint-sized guidette was cast on the latest season of Dancing With the Stars — a show where many a contestant has lost a good chunk of weight — you’d think keeping her shape would have been easy. Not so, said Snooki!
"I actually gained more weight on the show because I wasn't with my trainer," she reveals to Life & Style. "My trainer puts me on this crazy regimen. I ate more, I didn't do my weight training and I gained a little weight."
After getting over the initial disappointment of being eliminated from the ballroom dance competition, Snooki appreciated being able to get back into her normal fitness regimen. "I get to lift weights at home," she said. "I was just running around [on DWTS]."
Now that the 26-year-old mother is home, she’s back to her daily routine, in which she benches, squats and runs three miles. Seriously impressive, Snooks! Though she does admit that sometimes her son Lorenzo takes precedent. "Sometimes [I] just want to be home with my [baby]. I get lazy sometimes."
Hey, everyone needs a cheat day now and then. And as for Nicole gaining weight on DWTS, we sure didn’t notice anything. We were too focused on her killing it in her routines! Hopefully she’ll still throw those dancing shoes back on from time to time.
