Dancing With The Stars is no stranger to the Kardashians. Two members of the famous reality fam have hit the ballroom in the past — Kim Kardashian to middling success in Season 7, and Rob Kardashian, who made it all the way to the finale in Season 13. Now, it turns out the (former?) patriarch of the family, Bruce Jenner, wants in to Season 18.

Bruce is stepdad to the Kardashian kids — he and their mom Kris Jenner are separated but technically still married — and he reportedly wants to follow in their ballroom footsteps.

"He's dying to do it," a source told Us Weekly, adding that "the show is close to locking him in."

The idea of Bruce in the ballroom is actually kind of interesting, because he hits three of the show's favorite categories of contestants: He's a potentially polarizing (but also potentially enjoyable) reality star, he's a former Olympic champion (he won gold in the decathlon at the 1976 Olympics), and, at 64, he qualifies as an "older" contestant.

That said, we're not sure exactly how we feel about this idea. The Kardashian family has a mixed record on the show; Kim was generally less than stellar, but Rob won us all over with his work ethic and enthusiasm. Bruce could be a lot of fun, and after his split from Kris he definitely has the time to devote to the show, but it's also possible that he could come off as desperate for more time in the spotlight, which is never appealing.

What do you think: Is casting Bruce for Season 18 a great idea, or should the show stay away from the Kardashians?
