If you want a quick burst of popularity, get replaced on Dancing With the Stars. Brooke Burke-Charvet had plenty of critics as co-host, but after she was blindsided by her dismissal on Friday, then replaced by Erin Andrews on Monday, she practically became a martyr.

Brooke has kept a dry sense of humor about the whole thing, and when the firing news spread online, she quipped, "I've seen my fair share of shocking eliminations in the ballroom but this one takes the cake." That was before everyone knew about Erin. When those rumors came out on Sunday, Brooke took to Twitter — not to talk about Erin, but to joke about the many DWTS changes (so far) and stay positive through it all.

She first wrote, "So much chatter bout DWTS. I'm really cool everyone. I did my 7 seasons, had a blast! I'm ready for change. I love your loyalty. Thank you!" Brooke followed that a few minutes later with, "Here's the skinny - The show found out Harold Wheeler, the band, Rob & me were putting together our own road show, so they fired us all!" You never know how people will take things, so shortly after that — late on Sunday night — she added, "Off to bed with my sense of humor. I was totally kidding Tweeties. Night nite! Sweet dreams."

Brooke won Season 7 with Derek Hough and has co-hosted the show since 2010. Harold Wheeler and the band had been with the show longer, but they too were replaced.

Brooke deserves a lot of credit for her positive attitude about the whole situation. This is going to be hard on Erin — probably as hard as it was on Brooke when she replaced Samantha Harris (who had her own share of critics) and some fans said they wished Samantha would return. DWTS fans are passionate, if not always positive, and we rarely agree on anything except this: We hate change … at least until we get used to it.

Good luck to both Brooke and Erin in their new journeys!
