We'll admit: we didn't see this one coming. We were hoping to see Maksim Chmerkovskiy back on Dancing With the Stars Season 18 as a judge or guest performer, but we'd given up even thinking he might compete again. Turns out, we were wrong.

That's right, folks. Sources have confirmed to E! that the bad boy of the ballroom is back, baby. Maks will reportedly be competing as a pro during Season 18, which means we'll get another dose of that particular brand of sexy intensity that only he can bring.

Here at Wetpaint Entertainment, we're thrilled about this news. While having a few seasons without Maks was fun just to shake things up, we've definitely missed him. He's never afraid to speak his mind, which often makes for good TV. Not to mention his dance skills!

Plus, it really does seem wrong for Maks to walk away from this show without ever taking home a Mirror Ball — hopefully he'll get a Season 18 partner who can help him contend for that coveted trophy. We'd love to see him make it all the way to the end.

But enough about us: what do you think? Are you as excited as we are to have Maks back, or did you prefer seeing new pros give it a try? Would you rather see him as a judge, perhaps?

The Season 18 cast is revealed on Tuesday, March 4. The season premieres Monday, March 17 on ABC.
