Geroge Lopez may be a stand-up comedian — but he wasn't quite capable of standing on his power after his show this week. The TV star and comic has been arrested after getting drunk and falling asleep on the floor of a casino. Because when you're tired, you're tired.
George performed his stand-up act at the Caesars Windsor casino in Canada on February 27, and he was arrested for public intoxication later that night, according to TMZ. After being found asleep on the floor in the middle of the casino, the 52-year-old star was arrested and spent the night in a drunk tank. Reportedly, charges will not be filed.
George issued a statement that reads, "Tied one on last night. Not feeling great this morning. I was trying to sleep it off — unfortunately, it was on the casino floor."
The next day, George performed another sold-out show at the casino and addressed his arrest, saying that he had ingested a lot of tequila. "A guy can't have 52 shots?" he quipped onstage. "I just did in Windsor, what Justin Bieber does in America."
Wait, did he seriously do 52 shots of tequila? If so, he's probably lucky to still be alive. And did he really have to drag poor Bieber into the fray?
George starred on the ABC sitcom George Lopez for five seasons and hosted Lopez Tonight on TBS from 2009 to 2011. He has also provided voices for animated films Rio and The Smurfs.
We're glad George is doing OK and is able to joke about the incident. But perhaps he should stay away from the tequila for a bit.
