Fast-forward yourself to this Monday, March 24, a little after 8 p.m. You’re watching Dancing With the Stars Season 18, Week 2, and the hosts explain whatever you’re supposed to do when it comes to The Switch-Up Twist. Are you going to get involved? Boycott in protest? If you don’t vote, you’ll have no control over the outcome.
At the end of the Season 18 premiere, Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews said a big surprise shaking up the competition would be revealed at the start of Week 2. Earlier this week, ABC released promo for Week 2, teasing, "Monday, the biggest surprises begin. Who goes home first? And you take control of the ballroom. You decide who dances with who. The vote begins live."
We don’t know the details on the vote. Hopefully it’s not Twitter-based or Cody Simpson and James Maslows’s fans will control everything. If it’s just like regular call/online voting, then maybe as we vote for couples to stay we also add a spot for who the celeb should be paired with next. The details are still sketchy, but whatever happens will most likely just be for one week since the celebs don’t seem interested in jumping ship on their original partners. (We’re still a bit confused on how the elimination will work on Week 3.)
How do you feel about this? It’s going to happen no matter what, so are you going to sit back and watch what happens or jump in with your preference on the new partnerships? Where is your head at, in terms of which pro, say, Candace Cameron Bure should get on week 2? NeNe Leakes? Charlie White? Weigh in!
