If everyone followed Danica McKellar’s strict diet, we might all look as gorgeous as she does in her slinky Dancing With the Stars Season 18 costumes. But some of us don’t have that kind of discipline, especially in the face of all that Easter candy. We are but slaves to the Cadbury gods!
Danica is 39, but she could pass for a college student, which might just be genetics but it’s probably tied in part to her healthy living. Danica explained her diet to reporters (via People) after the Week 2 show. "I don't eat gluten, I don't eat dairy, I don't eat sugar really, and the only thing I drink is water. I eat really, really clean. I'm very strict."
OK, but what does she eat? "I eat a lot of food, but it's all brown rice and vegetables and lean meats and things like that."
At least she’s not going hungry. You have to admire that kind of willpower! And if she wants to maintain a trim figure, eating like this means she doesn’t really have to work her butt off at the gym. "I don't do any kind of exercise regularly except for yoga and things that are slow and not cardio-based," she said.
Of course, that’s outside DWTS. This show is all cardio all the time. This Monday, March 31 on Week 3, Danica and her pro partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, will dance Contemporary, and we’ll see the results of her hard work (and discipline) in action.
