Dancing With the Stars Season 18, Week 3 was Most Memorable Year week, and James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd decided to tell the story of how James overcame bullying to be a total heartthrob pop star.

It's hard to imagine hunky James ever had a hard time winning over the ladies, but in this dance he plays the geek guy trying to get the hot girl. According to James, he used to be out of shape, and was bullied and made fun of because of that. He even had to switch schools. His most memorable year was 2007, because that's the year he overcame bullying.

They danced to "The Middle" by Jimmy Eats World, which was one of James' favorite songs from the time. We gotta say, we were impressed by this one. James' footwork is much sharper than it had been in the past, and the tricks they incorporated worked.

"Was that an earthquake, an aftershock, or did you just rock this place?" Len burst out. Robin complimented him for the way he attacked the dance. Bruno said it had the explosive energy of a lightning strike, and called him a contender. Carrie Ann said he continues to surprise her, but he should watch the "claw" shape he sometimes makes with his hand.

Score: 36/40.
