It was an incredibly strong week, with a ton of dances that really impressed, but that doesn't mean everyone totally rocked it. After much thought, we at Wetpaint Entertainment came up with our picks for best and worst of the night. See our selections, and then share your own choices in the comments below!
Best: Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Foxtrot
We're not sure if this Foxtrot really deserved the one-point deduction, but it was definitely the standout of the night. Meryl's artistry is undeniable.
Honorable Mention: Danica McKellar and Val Chmerkovskiy, Contemporary
Danica's best dance of the season, by far. She's getting more comfortable out there, and for the first time, she was truly expressive.
Honorable Mention: Amy Purdy and Derek Hough, Contemporary
We thought all the gushing over the fact that Amy was out there dancing at all was a bit patronizing and off putting, but that doesn't change the fact that this was just plain a beautiful dance. Amy is very elegant.
Worst: Cody Simpson and Witney Carson, Jazz
Sorry, we did not see what the judges saw. The choreography didn't work for us, and Cody failed to impress.
Dishonorable Mention: Drew Carey and Cheryl Burke — Waltz
We love Drew. This Waltz was pretty good for his skill level, but in a night where almost everyone was excellent, that doesn't cut it. Also, while this probably wasn't his choice, we're still turned off by the fact that he danced to "Fade Into You," a song clearly about sex, for this tribute to his son. That's weird.
