Julianne Hough warned everyone at the start of the Dancing With the Stars Season 18, Week 4 show that she was going to be as candid and "brutal" as last fall. In the previous season, Mark Ballas was her target. This time, it was Maksim Chmerkovskiy for his “Switch Up” Jive with Danica McKellar.

Before the judges gave their comments, but after they had already filed their scores, Tom Bergeron revealed that there was a glitch with the music track, which put Danica and Maks off time. Carrie Ann said she was worried about the timing. Len Goodman said the Jive that they did was good, but there wasn’t enough of it, there was too much “goofing off.”

Then Julianne had her say. "I have to agree with Len and Carrie Ann. I felt like you were there, and then you were over there. I wanted to see you," she said of Danica. "We all know what a great dancer you are. And I'm gonna say this because [in a sing-song voice] I am the brutal Julianne that I am. I almost felt like, Maks — hon, I'm sorry, you're Mark this year — I felt like it was a little bit like this week could get past so that you could be back with Meryl, and you just had to phone it in so you could get back with Meryl."

The crowd booed. Maks said, "That was definitely not the case, but thank you." They showed the Skybox, with Val Chmerkovskiy — Danica’s original partner — not looking happy, and Meryl Davis just looking surprised.

Julianne wasn't even done, telling Danica, "I'm sorry, but I can't wait for you to get back with Val because I know your partnership was so great. I'm sorry Maks, I love you. I do."

Wow. After the critiques were over, Tom quipped that Maks would get tickets to Julianne's Move Live tour. Maks joked, "I'll get some for Mark too.” Nice. In the Celebriquarium, Val said he was happy with how Maks and Danica danced, saying his bro did good. Maks told Val he took care of Danica and did his best.

They got four 8s, which isn’t that bad, but what did you think of Julianne’s comments? Was she rude or on point?
