Pat yourself on the back — then massage it, gently — if you survived this week without injury, because almost no one on Dancing With the Stars Season 18 can say the same.

Amy Purdy was just one of the injured stars on Latin Night, and her injury was surprising for both  its timing and severity. She had to head to the hospital during the Week 7 show, updating afterward that she had a rib out of place and her muscles were in spasm.

This is obviously tough on Amy, but it also puts her pro partner Derek Hough in a bit of a pickle. They are still hoping to complete the two dances scheduled for the Week 8 show on Monday, May 5, although Derek wrote in his TV Guide blog that they are playing it by ear.

“Amy's been cleared to continue, but she hasn't been dancing yet because of the inflammation,” Derek wrote. “It's not like, ‘You can dance in two days.’ It's whenever she feels better and feels like she's ready to. I've been dancing with someone else right now in rehearsals and Amy is in all the rehearsals watching.”

For their individual dance on Monday, they have the Argentine Tango. “I'm not really downgrading choreography to favor her back because there's not much you can tweak in the Argentine Tango to do that unless you do something really basic and not that interesting,” Derek wrote. “I'm going ahead and choreographing something that I would normally do and hopefully she can do it. I always glance over to see what kind of face Amy is making when we're rehearsing to see if she thinks she can do the move or not. I have one eye on her and one eye on what I'm doing. So far there haven't been too many bad faces!” Good! Keep the bad faces to a minimum.

The second dance of the night is this new thing called the Celebrity Dance Duel. James Maslow previously revealed that he and Peta Murgatroyd are partnered with Derek and Amy. Derek didn’t have all the details, but he said it’s not quite the same as the Side-By-Side Challenge from a couple of seasons past.

Fans will just have to wait and see how that new dance twist plays out. For now, we hope Amy heals fast and performs the amazing Argentine Tango we know she has in her. Good luck, guys!

DWTS Season 18 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
