Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy had the Rumba on Dancing With the Stars Season 18, Week 8.

The Rumba is a very sensual dance, Maks explained in in the video package. Their story is about a dysfunctional relationship. Meryl said that although people think Maks is scary, he's not. She called him a teddy bear. Maks said that after the show they are both going to try to maintain "whatever it is they have going on." Meryl said this Rumba is outside the norm, the emotions are really intense.

They weren't kidding. This dance was all sorts of powerful. Meryl looked lovely. So fluid, and the emotions were clear. Damn, but she can dance. Lovely. But was it too Contemporary in its stylings?

Len said it was "totally Tennessee Williams." It was like watching a play without words. Inspired. Carrie Ann said Meryl and Maks have mesmerizing chemistry, and she had energy that went through every move, which is exactly how a Rumba is supposed to be. Still, there wasn't quite enough Rumba content. Len said he doesn't normally like overdramatic routines, but this time it worked for him. He also would have liked a bit more Rumba, but he would watch it again. Abby Lee Miller said she needs to point her feet more.

Score: 36/40. 8 from Abby Lee Miller. Really?

Dancing With the Stars airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
