Good news! Dancing With the Stars will officially shimmy its way back onto your TV set this fall for Season 19.
It's not exactly a shocker, since they already announced a new showrunner to replace Conrad Green, who is leaving after Season 18. Why bother hiring someone new if they weren't sure the show would be back?
The Hollywood Reporter announced ABC's renewal on May 9, but there were no further details. It would be nice to see the Results Show return as well, but we won’t hold our breath. DWTS is not where it used to be in the ratings, although for the most part DWTS Season 18 has been holding steady. (Week 8 is a notable exception, but there are a few reasons for that.)
DWTS host Tom Bergeron recently said he’s contracted for at least the next two seasons, which would include the spring 2015 Season 20, if that arrives. He said he’d like DWTS to last beyond 2015, and we do too. Hopefully ABC doesn’t see 20 as a nice number to end things on. Go for at least 25!
Are you excited to see that DWTS Season 19 is official? What do you hope to see from the fall season? Which pros should they be sure to include? Any suggested celebs? Themes they should keep or discard? More guest judges or fewer? Share your suggestions! You never know, the new Powers That Be may pay attention to your ideas and include them...
DWTS Season 18 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
