UPDATE: Anna later shared an update on Facebook with details on the show: "Had an amazing experience last week to be a part of HBO's 'Newsroom'! Amazing cast and production - creative and professional . Wow:) Did not make a single dance step details to follow." Sounds good so far! The Newsroom Season 2 was pretty great; Season 3 is meant to premiere this fall, but no start date has been announced yet. If you're not familiar with the Jeff Daniels/Emily Mortimer show, now's a good time to catch up!

Original story:

Good news for Anna Trebunskaya! The longtime Dancing With the Stars pro — who gave birth to her first child, Amalya, in January — is now an actress.

We knew she’d been taking acting lessons around her dancing gigs, and talent agent Mark Measures tweeted an exciting update on June 20: "So thrilled for @atrebunskaya who is shooting a major television show today and not dancing a single step. #Actress."

Congrats! Early on June 21, Anna tweeted her own update: "Almost 1am and I'm still working... #newadventure #workingmama #actress." She later added, "And up and about early. On my way to Sacramento #workingmama." Get it, Mama!

Anna isn’t the first DWTS pro to cross over into acting, but it does seem like most pros get cast in dance roles, at least at first, and it takes a while to be recognized as more than a dancer. So it’s great news for Anna to be able to separate herself as an actress in a non-dancing role.

They didn’t share details on what TV show Anna was shooting or what her role is, so we’ll have to stay tuned for any updates. Anna’s boyfriend, Nevin Millan, is also an actor, and his IMDb page shows that he has some projects filming or in pre-production right now too. These are busy times for Amalya’s parents!

Of course, we still hope Anna can return to DWTS in some fashion in the fall Season 19 — whether to dance or guest judge. But congrats to her on this new adventure. Good luck!
