Dancing With the Stars may be between seasons, but the dance injuries haven’t stopped for pro Derek Hough.

Derek and Julianne Hough are currently on their Move Live tour, and Derek hinted to some pain after a show over the weekend in North Dakota.

On July 14, he tweeted, "sry 4 not being able 2 come say hi after the show N.D . I acquired a little injury at the end of 2nite's show . thx 4 all the luv."

On July 15, he updated with the Instagram photo shown, writing, "I hurt my back the other night and it's still not quite healed . Didn't realize it was so red . Show must go on." Cue the "red hot" jokes!

Derek also shared a video of his back getting treated, writing, "So good but so painful . #Psoas . And Dry Needling . #muscletwitch The things we do."

Here’s the video:

Ouch!

Last year, for the fall Season 17, Derek’s back was also bothering him to the point that Amber Riley (who would go on to win the season) had to rehearse with another dancer and she feared Derek might not be able to compete. The previous year, for Season 15 All-Stars, Derek had to sit out some time due to the return of an old injury — a bulging disc in his vertebrae that became inflamed that week.

Derek always manages to pull through, and he meant it when he wrote that the “show must go on.” He has strong motivation to heal quickly, since he and Julianne have a very special gig tonight. On July 16, Derek shared an extended family photo, noting, “Hometown show today in Utah . Can't wait to see my Family and friends !! Got my treatment done and ready to rock and roll . Feel like a new man #cousins #bigfamily #moveliveontour.”

Good luck with the hometown show — but don’t overdo it! You only get one body in this life.

DWTS Season 19 premieres Monday, September 15 from 8 to 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
