UPDATE: Good news — Sharna Burgess was added to the list as the 13th pro!
The party has already started for Dancing With the Stars Season 19. The fall 2014 show won’t premiere until Monday, September 15, and the celeb cast won’t be announced until September 4, but Good Morning America just revealed the pro dancers this morning on Wednesday, August 13. They’ve never done anything like this before, but they’re in a real promotion blitz.
The pros were named a few at a time, starting with four pros who were expected to return: Cheryl, Tony, Karina and Val. During that group’s live discussion, they reminded viewers that the Results Show is actually returning for the first two nights of S19. Tony also mentioned that the Switch Up will be back at some point.
Then they revealed the full cast of pros, which includes Derek Hough and several familiar faces from Season 18, but not our beloved Sharna Burgess, Henry Byalikov, Sasha Farber or reigning pro champion Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
Maks skipping S18 (as a pro) was expected, since Maks openly said he was done with dancing. But there was no judge announcement or anything, so … is Maks out out?
But we also have three new DWTS pros — Atem Chigvintsev (aka Carrie Ann Inaba’s ex-boyfriend), who was promoted from the troupe; So You Think You Can Dance’s Allison Holker, who has performed on DWTS with Derek; and Keoikantse Motsepe of Burn The Floor, who will bring talent but also some diversity to the pro cast.
Here’s the pro lineup for Season 19:

So we'll have to wait and see which 12 celebs they cast to partner with those 12 pros.
What do you think? Are you excited, disappointed, confused, hopeful? Are you sad that Maks, Sharna, Henry, Sasha, Lindsay, and other past pros were not added to the list?
DWTS Season 19 premieres Monday, September 15 from 8 to 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
