Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Aly Raisman knows the challenges she faces on Dancing With the Stars Season 16. Although she's an Olympic champ, 18-year-old Aly still admits she’s got some challenges as a competitor in her upcoming Dancing With the Stars 2013 stint with dancing partner Mark Ballas.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, she confessed that her transition from being a gymnast to a ballroom dancer might hit some speed bumps. “I have some gymnastics habits that are a little tough [to break],” she said. Aly's also a little worried about the switch from being barefoot to dancing in high heels (and backwards!). “It’s a little bit of a struggle,” she said of her high heels. “I feel really awkward in them, but we’re gonna keep practicing.”

This will actually not be Aly’s first time around the dance floor of DWTS. She performed in a dance by Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough last season, and had such a good time she asked to be on the show. “I made sure everyone knew that I wanted to do the show ‘cause I had so much fun…” she said. She found out at the end of December that she would definitely appear on the show, and had to keep it a secret.

In spite of her concerns, Aly hinted at her excitement about Monday’s show in a Tweet today, writing: “5 days til I cha cha with @MarkBallas;).”
