Back in May, former Dancing With the Stars pro Julianne Hough told Access Hollywood it would be the hardest decision of her life if her past winners Apolo Ohno and Helio Castroneves asked her to put her movie career on hold to return for All-Stars.

Well they both asked and she’s not here.

Earlier today, DWTS pro Cheryl Burke co-hosted Access Hollywood with Kit Hoover; Cheryl asked guest Apolo Ohno if it’s going to be weird to dance without Julianne on All-Stars Season 15.

"It's going to be really weird,” Apolo said, “but I'm with Karina Smirnoff, who is an amazing dancer." Apolo said he did text and call Julianne to ask her to return. Kit joked that Julianne was probably on a yacht with her boyfriend Ryan Seacrest.

"I think she's filming, so I think she's busy,” Apolo said. (Julianne is currently finishing up filming on Safe Haven in North Carolina.) “But I did ask her." She had to think about it, Apolo said. "She hadn't really been back to the show as a dancer for a long time. [But] she said that I was her favorite dancer..." he said. "That's not what I hear!" Cheryl quipped.

Apolo said he cringes when he watches his DWTS Season 4 dances now. He doesn't consider his skills as good as, say, Nicole Scherzinger, who won Season 10. Cheryl, who is dancing with her Season 3 winner Emmitt Smith, said she's been YouTube-ing a lot to re-watch the old dances.

What do you think of the new pair of Apolo and Karina? Do you think they have a good shot of going all the way?

Dancing With the Stars Season 15: All-Stars will premiere on Monday, September 24 at 8p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Check out the full All-Stars cast list here.
