Dancing With the Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy should probably send Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas a bouquet of flowers. Not only have they taken his place as the object of judge Carrie Ann Inaba's anger, they they’ve replaced him as the "controversial" media subjects of Season 15 All-Stars.

Bristol's controversy is just for making it through Week 2 — which isn't something she has total control over — but like Maks, Bristol and Mark have chosen to fire back at their critics, including Carrie Ann.

To recap, on the Week 2 Performance Show, Carrie Ann said that Bristol and Mark had slammed the judges in the face for choosing to break hold in the middle of their Quickstep. So, in response, she said, the judges would slam back. It made Maks giggle in the skybox, but angered some fans, who felt it was a harsh thing to slam at Bristol when it wasn’t her choreography decision — and Mark only chose to break hold to adapt their country song to a Quickstep. Carrie Ann did sound pretty heated about it, as if the hold-breaking were a personal attack to the judges.

"It was pretty ghetto," Bristol told Zap2it. "I was just like, oooo-kay. You slam back, whatever." Mark added, "I was like, dude, you're like a 40-year-old woman. Whatever."

Bristol knows she inspires polarizing reactions, although she said she avoids reading comments about herself. "People have such opinions about me. It's like ‘I hate you, I want you dead and I want to shoot my TV.'" Yeah, whatever happened to that guy who shot his TV after watching Bristol perform on DWTS Season 11?

Hollywood Gossip says Bristol is receiving death threats this fall, but would you consider a comment like "I hate you, I want you dead" to be a serious death threat or someone just taking the show maybe a bit too seriously? It’s just dancing, everybody!

Catch a new episode of Dancing With the Stars Season 15: All-Stars on Monday, October 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
