As most Dancing With the Stars fans probably know, DWTS host Brooke Burke-Charvet was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer, which she revealed last year. Fortunately, Brooke had a successful thyroidectomy in December, and things are going well for the optimistic star.
"It's a new year, new time," Brooke told Celebuzz. "Honestly, it’s kind of back to business as usual — just a new part of the story, I guess."
She admitted that finding out she had cancer was "scary." " I feel like I have such a healthy lifestyle," she explained. "Life is precious. I really decided to make it a positive [thing] and bring awareness to it."
We're so glad Brooke was able to turn her battle with cancer into a life affirming experience.
Dancing With the Stars Season 16 premieres March 18, 2013 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
