Rob Kardashian is busy working on his fitness — and his good friend and former Dancing With the Stars partner Cheryl Burke is helping him shed the pounds.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has admittedly put on weight recently, thanks in part to the stress of his on-and-off relationship with now ex-girlfriend Rita Ora. But now he’s on a mission to drop the extra weight and get healthy again. Naturally, he reached out to Cheryl for advice. (After all, Cheryl helped Rob tone up during Season 13 of Dancing With the Stars!)
So what advice did Cheryl have for her former mentee? “He just needs to get his butt in the gym and eat well,” Cheryl recently told Wetpaint Entertainment. And a huge part of healthy eating is snacking, which just so happens to be one of the DWTS pro’s favorite activities.
Here’s what Cheryl had to say about Rob’s weight loss journey and the healthy advice she gave him to help shed the excess pounds.
Wetpaint Entertainment: You and Rob became really good friends during Season 13. Are you still really close with him?
Cheryl Burke: Yeah, I am! We don’t hang out every day, but we’ll talk every once in awhile. We haven’t seen each other in a long time, but he gives me a call everytime I start the season up again. During the hiatus, we’ll hang out.
He’s on a really big health kick right now. Has he approached you for any weight loss tips?
He definitely called me, and was like, “I’ve gained so much weight. I need help. Will you help me?” So I said, “First of all, you need to eat well.” It’s all about eating your three meal a day and snacking in between. For example, when I snack, I love Sargento cheese. It’s so easy, and it’s on the go. I mean, who doesn’t love cheese? You don’t want to starve yourself. That’s the worst thing you can do. You always end up gaining weight by doing that. But snacking keeps your body working and burning those calories.
That’s such great advice. We’re definitely looking forward to his body transformation!
I’m sure Rob is going to do fine! He just needs to get his butt in the gym and eat well. I wish he would have done All-Stars. I know he loved the show, and he had no choice but to wake up and dance every single day. He’s much happier when he’s active. I think he’ll get there — he just needs the motivation.
Here's hoping Rob finds the motivation he needs to get healthy. With a healthier mindset — and a healthier relationship status — we bet Rob will be back to his former self in no time!
Dancing With the Stars Season 16 premieres Monday, March 18 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
