We already know that Dancing With the Stars pro Cheryl Burke is poetry in motion on the dance floor, and we’re about to learn what she can do with prose: she tells Wetpaint what her fans can expect when her new book Dancing Lessons is released on February 17, 2011.
“It's basically a memoir of my life since I was a little girl and how dancing has related to it,” Burke says, “and obviously stuff about Dancing With the Stars, behind-the-scenes stuff with that and all the partners I've had.”
Burke reveals that the most fun part of her writing process “was going through all my 10 partners that I've had on the show and talking about how I've learned from every single one of them and how they've influenced my life, and not just me influencing their life.”
The two-time Mirror Ball champ thinks Dancing Lessons' life lessons will appeal to a broad range of readers. “There are different experiences in my life that I'm sure many teenagers, girls and women can relate to, as well as everything else — just being lighthearted and fun about the show and my dancing career,” she says.
There are also some darker passages from her life that she admits were difficult to delve into. “Absolutely, but you'll have to read it!”
