Beloved Dancing With the Stars pro Chelsie Hightower is not going to compete on DWTS Season 16.
The pros now know their fates for the spring 2013 season, which starts March 18, and it sounds like Chelsie will not be with us. TMZ stopped her on the street and asked her about Maksim Chmerkovskiy leaving the show. She said she was a little bit shocked since he's been saying he would leave for a long time and now he's finally doing it.
TMZ: "You're sticking around, though.”
Chelsie: "I'm not on— I can't say."
TMZ: "Wait, what? You left too?"
Chelsie: "No, no, no. Not my choice. Not my choice. Sometimes we take breaks."
TMZ: "So you're leaving for a year and you're maybe coming back."
Then she admitted she told the guy something she probably shouldn't have told him. Oh well. We're going to get the news on Tuesday (Feb. 26) anyway when the official couples are revealed. Plus, she also tweeted this:
Chelsie has been off and on since Season 8. It's just a little surprising to see her “off” this time since we have (at least) two new pros this season, including another young blonde So You Think You Can Dance alum from Utah in Lindsay Arnold. Plus, Sharna Burgess of the DWTS pro troupe revealed she has been bumped up to competing pro.
We’ll miss you, Chelsie, but we're glad you'll still be dancing on Results Shows! See you next fall?
