On Dancing With the Stars 2013, soap opera star Ingo Rademacher has remained in the middle of the competition. However, last night on Season 16, Week 6 he crept closer to the top, scoring 24/30 for his Tango with partner Kym Johnson. The best part? He was celebrating his 42nd birthday, and was able to rejoice with friends and family at the DWTS after party.

When Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with the birthday boy at the big bash at Mixology 101 LA, he said it was “definitely” the best birthday ever before jumping right into talking about the Mirror Ball.

Though he would love to win one for himself, he actually thinks someone else will be taking the coveted prize home — his youngest son, Pohaku!

OK, so he was talking about a mini Mirror Ball that was on the top of his extravagant birthday cake. The little guy was having a hard time letting go of it. When asked if he’d like to take the actual prize home, Ingo replied coyly, saying, “Well, he wants the Mirror Ball. He’s got his Mirror Ball, so we’re all good.”

Although Ingo is admittedly not a big partier, he was happy to celebrate with everyone he loves — including both his real family and new DWTS family. “I’m not big on parties, but you know, tonight we were already out, so it’s definitely good,” he dished. “Usually I’m like, ‘Nah, I don’t need anything!’ But it’s really good to actually have this and have all my friends come to the show tonight.”

Well, happy belated birthday, Ingo! Hopefully he’ll get closer to the real Mirror Ball trophy tonight, though it sounds like his little family is just fine with a mini plastic one.
