We can't be the only ones who think Len Goodman is overly hard on Dancing With the Stars Season 16 frontrunner Jacoby Jones, right? While Len acknowledges Jacoby's performance quality, he doesn't hold back on technical critique. Does that bother Jacoby?
Wetpaint Entertainment spoke exclusively to Jacoby at the DWTS Week 5 after party held at Mixology 101 L.A., where he weighed in on why he doesn't mind Len's harsh words.
"Len is like a coach who pushes you," he explained. "He knows you have the potential and he might see that you did good, but he won’t give you credit for it. And I appreciate that. I’m used to that. He acts like one of my coaches."
When you see Jacoby talking back to the grumpiest judge, it's not out of annoyance. It's actually a sign of affection and understanding. "That’s why I mess with him the way he messes with me," he told us. "Like my receiving coach. I made a play against San Diego — caught the ball, made a move, made the dude fall down — and my coach was like, ‘You could have scored.’ I was like, ‘Are you serious? I made the dude fall down!’ But you appreciate what they’re doing."
We also couldn't resist asking Jacoby about fellow contestant Andy Dick, who he seems to have formed a bit of a bromance with. As it turns out, these two are more than bros — they’re “friends for life.”
"I love Andy," Jacoby told us. "And Andy zip lining? Oh my god. I told him, ‘I’m not doing that sh*t! You’ll never catch me zip lining. Ain’t no way in hell.’"
He added that he loves "the whole cast.” "You never want to see anybody go home," he concluded. "I love everyone on the show."
