Dancing With the Stars Season 16’s Victor Ortiz was recently on Mario Lopez's radio show and the DWTS Season 3 runner-up shared lots of advice for his boxing buddy — including that he should keep his partner relationship romance-free (unlike Mario with now ex-girlfriend/ex-pro partner, Karina Smirnoff).

Victor told Mario how he first met his partner, new pro Lindsay Arnold: "I open my door and I was like 'Wow.' It wasn't one of the other girls from the show that's been on there. I recognized that right off the back. I'm like 'cutie!' She looks at me and she says 'Hi!' The way she's so spontaneous and open I was like 'Dude, I like you. You're awesome.' We meshed right away. It was fun on both ends but serious at the same time. So I was like 'I'm gonna have a blast. We're gonna win this thing.'"

She's 19, Mario said. She's hot. She's his teacher and partner. Mario, 39, gave Victor, 26, some big brother advice. "First of all, I want you to behave. I want you to not get romantic with this girl right off the bat. I want you to look at her as your trainer, your coach." Victor laughed and said, "It's just a little different 'cause she doesn't have a mustache." Mario said he has to listen to her and approach this like a fight. Victor agreed. Mario also suggested Victor stay conservative at the start of the season, in terms of wardrobe. Too many people are getting shirtless right away nowadays, Mario said. "I say keep it conservative 'cause Middle America likes that."

In a separate interview, with Access Hollywood, Kit Hoover asked about a love connection between Victor and Lindsay, saying that works well with the audience. “Yeah, but I’ve got to respect her world and this is work,” Victor said.

Victor and Lindsay do look cute together, even if they never cross into romance/showmance territory. Check them out in their cute Access interview.
