Dancing With the Stars 2013 has delivered plenty of phenomenal performances throughout the past seven weeks, and as we head into Season 16, Week 8 with two dances per couple, there are sure to be more. However, since we have three long days until we seem ‘em dance again, we’ve decided to round up three of our favorites from the season thus far.
It was a tough job to narrow down three, but somebody’s gotta do it. Check out our picks below, and dish your favorites in the comments!
3. Aly Raisman & Mark Ballas’s Week 7 Salsa
Aly Raisman will no longer be criticized for sticking her butt out after this amazing Salsa. She used it to her advantage while shimmying, shaking, and impressing everyone alongside partner Mark Ballas. Not only did this earn them the top scores of the night (though Kellie and Derek won immunity since they tied), but made everyone aware of how fun and technically-perfect this pair can be.
2. Kellie Pickler & Derek Hough’s Week 6 Quickstep
If you look up “Quickstep” in the dictionary, you will probably see Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough’s Week 6 dance. Not only did this earn them their first 10s of the season, but it was the first time that they didn’t use props (weird lightsabers) or shirtless distractions (we’re looking at you, Derek) to help their scores — they just danced sharply and quickly.
1. Zendaya and Val & Jacoby and Karina’s Week 7 Dance-Off Jive
Zendaya and Val Chmerkovskiy and Jacoby Jones and Karina Smirnoff’s Week 7 dance-off was one for the record books. Not only did they exude talent with supreme technicality, but it was also entertaining and fun, a mix that not many dancers can pull off. Zendaya and Val may have taken home the extra three points, but to us, everyone won with this Jive. There are plenty more of their individual dances we could praise — Zendaya and Val’s Argentine Tango and Jacoby and Karina’s Jive, among others — but this one takes the cake for best overall.
