Week 5 is traditionally a tough week for the couples of Dancing With the Stars. It’s the halfway point of the 10-week season, when people start losing steam and getting extra frustrated. But maybe having fresh pros to dance with on DWTS Season 16 Week 5’s “side-by-side challenge” will be just the motivation the final nine couples need to push through. Read on for details on who is doing what for the Monday, April 15, 2013 Performance Show.

Andy Dick & Sharna Burgess, Paso Doble

Sharna explained what the heck is going on with this side-by-side thing.

"The pro couple comes out and dances first for about 30 seconds,” she told On the Red Carpet. “We then dance with them, synchronized choreography side by side. It has to be synchronized choreography for 15-20 seconds, and then we do our solo pieces. So it's all and all going to be about a 2 minute number from each couple. I don't know where they're going with it. I don't know why we're putting a celebrity pairing against a pro pairing. To see the difference, maybe, but it's going to be very, very interesting. It's exciting and it's also frightening at the same time."

Andy said everyone does the same moves differently so he thinks we're just supposed to see the unique style differences. Andy and Sharna also have a group dance on top of their Paso Doble, and Sharna said Mark Ballas and Derek Hough choreographed an amazing piece that she'll be in next week. Sharna said their Paso is going to have fire and intensity but it's going to have that Andy Dick flavor with its own story from start to finish.

According to @DWTSGossip, Andy & Sharna will be dancing with troupe members Sasha Farber and Emma Slater.

Aly Raisman & Mark Ballas, Samba

Aly and Mark don't really understand what's happening this week either.

Aly: "No one understands it! I have to go next to a pro."

Mark: "It's a very peculiar challenge. I'm not sure what's going on. But we'll do it, I guess. It's one of those things that makes you go 'Huh?'"

They have the Samba, and Aly showed a few shaking moves. She's so excited to Samba. She's always excited to learn the new dances, unlike some of the other more nervous celebs.

Victor Ortiz
& Lindsay Arnold, Viennese Waltz

Victor & Lindsay were in the bottom two again, so they know they have their work cut out for them. "I'm gonna have to bring wow Monday night,” Victor told OTRC. “I'm gonna have to work extra hours now. I'm gonna have to really put forth more effort. I'm gonna have to definitely focus on perfecting the dance, the moves, the actual posture 'cause that's really what's killing me. I have rhythm." He showed off some funky moves, but Lindsay said they have the Viennese Waltz, so he's not going to be able to do that. They have to stay elegant and classy.

According to @DWTSGossip, they will be dancing with Emma and Tristan MacManus.

Zendaya Coleman & Val Chmerkovskiy, Argentine Tango

As part of the pro couple deal, they get to dance with Anna Trebunskaya and Val’s brother Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Val told OTRC Zendaya was excited to get to dance with Maks. She joked that she could finally get rid of Val. We'll take him!

Ingo Rademacher & Kym Johnson, Cha-Cha-Cha

Ingo's back has been hurting but he has to move his body for the Cha-Cha. Kym said it's definitely more difficult for a tall person like Ingo to do a dance like the Cha-Cha, but she knows he will be great. He seems less confident, but he's always hard on himself.

They are dancing with pros Tony Dovolani and Emma. Kym thinks it will help Ingo to see Tony because he will be inspired by him and that will push him to step up. Ingo said Kym is just being politically correct. "What's really happening is putting us up against a pro couple is going to make us look bad,” Ingo told OTRC, “to so see how bad we are against the pros." Kym argues, "No, they’re going to see how good you are to keep up with the other pros." He hugs her and just laughs.

Sean Lowe & Peta Murgatroyd, Quickstep

Sean feels like he has to redeem himself this week. "Next Monday I just want to blow the judges away, and most importantly blow her away," Sean told OTRC of Peta. Peta said it will be a crazy week because they also have a full pro number that the celebs are included in, and that will take up 10 hours of rehearsal time, so their usual dance rehearsal time will be cut for that. Peta doesn't think Sean knows what he’s in for with the super-fast Quickstep, but Sean said, "the faster the better." Don't try that line on your wedding night, man!

According to @DWTSGossip, they will be dancing with Tristan and Chelsie Hightower.

D.L. Hughley & Cheryl Burke, Tango

D.L. seems to be in a great mood this week, laughing and having fun in his solo OTRC interview. "My dance is the Tang,” he said. “So it's a ballroom and a Latin dance. It'll be an interesting thing 'cause the ballroom dances, they're more kind of structured, and less kind of emotional. They feel better to me, but this is kind of a hybrid so we'll see how it goes." It'll also be him dancing with three pros. "I'm excited about it. I think steel sharpens steel and hopefully having that kind of energy around me might lift me up a little bit." He's looking forward to it.

According to @DWTSGossip, they will be dancing with pros Sasha and Chelsie.

Kellie Pickler & Derek Hough, Foxtrot

Mystery dance! At this point, Kellie and Derek haven’t revealed anything about their Week 5 dance. We’ll have to stay tuned! UPDATE: Troupe member Henry Byalikov posted this update on Facebook, "THIS WEEK!: I will be parterning Anna Trebunskaya in a Foxtrot with @DerekHough & Kellie Pickler for the Pro Comparison. Also, super exicted to be involved in a special feature with Derek Hough, Mark Ballas, Chelsie Hightower, and Witney Carson."

Jacoby Jones & Karina Smirnoff, Jive

Jacoby and Karina haven’t revealed anything about their dance, but Val told Xfinity that his brother Maks would be dancing with Jacoby & Karina this week. UPDATE: According to @DWTSGossip, they will be doing the Jive, along with Maks and Anna.
