It pains us to speak ill of the dancing departed, but as a cautionary tale for future Dancing With the Stars contestants we rounded up our choices for the least successful routines of 2012. Granted, this was an exceptionally good year, overall, with strong Season 14 performances and then the almost pro-level routines of All-Stars. That said, please don't try these three dances at home.

Martina Navratilova and Tony Dovolani, Jive, Season 14
Martina is a class act and an icon of the tennis world, but she’s not a great dancer, bless her. Week 1, she and Tony had an OK but not awful Foxtrot, but their Week 2 routine actually got worse. It was a Jive to Billy Joel's "Tell Her About It" and unfortunately everyone told her about how bad it was. He first routine got two 7s and a 6, but this one got two 6s and a 5. It also got her sent home first. But hey, Tony won the very next season!

Pamela Anderson and Tristan MacManus, Cha-Cha-Cha, All-Stars
Once again, the title of the song gave us a hint. On Week 1, Pamela and Tristan danced to "You Know I'm No Good," and she didn’t seem that surprised when the audience agreed. She wasn’t abad dancer, but it was All-Stars and everyone else looked much better. Heck, even Bristol Palin was surprisingly OK on Week 1. Pam got into her character well, but we wish she had practiced a bit more and focused on the #1 priority: keeping Tristan on the show. Oh well.

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas, Quickstep, All-Stars
Bristol was one of the worst dancers of All-Stars but she was actually much improved from Season 11. She was eliminated after her best dance, a Week 4 Rock 'n' Roll routine that got triple 8s. Her worst dance was arguably her "Redneck Woman" Quickstep back on Week 2. She loved the song, and called herself a "redneck woman,” but even though she brought as much personality to the dance as she could, it lacked a lot of technique and looked pretty awkward. Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough also got “slammed” for breaking hold in their Quickstep, but if you compare the two dances, you can see why Shawn still got much higher scores.
