Nah nah nah nah nah! Not that we’re bragging. Still, in the battle of the behemoths, Dancing With the Stars tends to lose to American Idol more often than not. So when we land a good ratings punch, we like to rub it in.

According to the L.A. Times, last week — for the second time in a row — DWTS beat Idol as the nation’s number one show. The dance competition show nabbed 21.4 million viewers on May 2, just beating out the May 4 and May 5 episodes of Idol.

What’s weird is, DWTS Season 12 is on track to be the most-watched season ever, even though — or because — it’s such an even playing field with no real frontrunners, no obvious trainwrecks, and no controversial drama queens. (*Cough*KateGosselin*Cough*BristolPalin*)

We kinda thought drama = ratings, but maybe that’s not the case. Or maybe the drama this season is just that it’s anybody’s game. We're sure some people actually watch Dancing With the Stars for the dancing! But, really, we think they’re watching to see if Kirstie Alley will fall again. For the record, we’re betting yes.
