Fans crying for more excitement on Dancing With the Stars definitely got their wish during Monday night’s performances, when judge Len Goodman started an all-out war in the ballroom.

Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough’s Trio challenge Paso Doble with Tristan MacManus earned rave reviews from Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli, but Len was less than impressed with Derek’s flashy choreography. He said it was a hodgepodge of moves. Where’s the twist turns? “I don’t want to see flashing lights, crashing music, I wanted a Paso Doble!” He stood up and yelled as the crowd booed. Then he yelled at Bruno, saying that Bruno can’t talk unless he’s standing up and … something gets “stuck up his ass.” Whoa.

However, no one was more surprised by Len’s outburst than Derek. "I was a little surprised by Len, honestly, because I saw him earlier in the week, and he was like, ‘Hey, why don't you go put a salvador in there and these moves?'" Derek told E! News.

"Do I put those moves in the routine literally because he said that. So I thought I was going to have an in with Len this week, but, oh no, he blindsided me!"

He blindsided us, too! But there was one DWTS pro that enjoyed Len and Bruno’s spat on live TV.

"It was awesome, actually,” Val Chmerkovskiy told E! News. “It was great to see! It's good to see them be the characters that they are and put on a great show."
