Now we really hope Dancing With the Stars keeps to two seasons a year!

DWTS pro Derek Hough has been iffy about returning to the show, which he’s won three times. He’s hinted to wanting a break, or even retiring from the show to pursue other projects. Derek just talked to Access Hollywood at the premiere of Safe Haven, his sister Julianne Hough's new movie. He said he's working on a lot of exciting things himself, but he doesn't want to share them in case they don't pan out.

He was asked if he’ll return for DWTS Season 16, which premieres March 18 and will reportedly start rehearsals at the end of this month. "I don't know, I don't know,” Derek told Access. “As of now I'm not sure if I'm returning for this season. I'll be back for the fall season. But we'll see. I don't know. Things change on a day-to-day basis."

Not too long ago, a rumor spread that ABC was considering a cut-back to just one DWTS season a year — the spring season. Then ABC exec Paul Lee said they still planned to keep it to two seasons a year. We hope they don’t change their minds because that would lessen the chances of Derek returning even further!
