Derek Hough is known for winning on Dancing With the Stars. No one knows this better than Derek.

Not only has he won three seasons — more than any other pro — he also usually wins the dance marathons; before this week, he'd only taken second place once, on Season 11 (he was beat by Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy). So it was a shock to Derek, as well as viewers, when he was the second one tagged OUT during last night's Season 14, Week 6 Motown Marathon.

What the heck happened?

"I stunk," Maria Menounos, Derek's celeb partner, told On the Red Carpet.

"I don't know," Derek said. "I was bummed. I'm not gonna lie. My pride was hurt. I've only ever come first or second in that thing."

"You've never danced with Maria," Maria quipped, still blaming herself.

"No, but I was like 'My pride!' Ouch! Ouch!'" Derek said. "But after watching everybody, everybody was having a blast performing, having a great time, so you couldn't argue. Everybody was great."

They ended the night tied for fifth place with a combined Foxtrot/Marathon score of 30 out of 40. That has to sting, especially for someone who is used to shining at all times, but at least Derek’s best friend. Mark Ballas. is in the frontrunner position, potentially becoming the next pro to win DWTS three times.
