Worship! Dolly doesn’t look or act like an “older” contestant, but she’s 66 and, unfortunately, she thinks she would be terrible on DWTS which is why she’s turned the show down for many years now. Come on, Dolly! We’re dying to see you dance.
Were you hoping for country superstar Dolly Parton to bring her personal brand of glitz and glamour to the ballroom on Dancing With the Stars? Sadly, Dolly will not be joining the show for the upcoming Season 14.
HollywoodLife initially reported that Billy Ray Cyrus turned down participating in Season 14 (which is odd considering that he already competed in Season 4 and the show never repeats contestants) but that he told the show’s producers that they should ask Dolly to dance in his place.
An insider told the website that Dolly was in “discussions” with producers for the show and that she “has requested to dance with [pro] Mark Ballas.”
While the idea of Dolly dancing with Mark would surely be a match made in ballroom dancing heaven, the country singer will not be competing on the show. Wetpaint Entertainment reached out to Dolly’s rep who denied that the singer would be on the show.
“I can confirm [Dolly] is not participating in DWTS next season,” her rep said.
Well, there’s always next season, right?
The official cast for Dancing With the Stars Season 14 will be announced on Tuesday, February 28 on Good Morning America.
