Everyone knows athletes do well on Dancing With the Stars. They have strength, stamina, training, and large fan bases outside the show. DWTS Season 15 All-Stars has three athletes competing — and they all happen to be past winners. And according to Cheryl Burke, the past athletes are the most likey to pose a threat to herself and her own athlete partner, Season 3 champ Emmitt Smith.
Cheryl and Emmitt will be a formidable team, but which celebs will they go head-to-head with? Celebuzz asked the pro this very question.
After giving the diplomatic "everybody is so good" and "I’m just happy Emmitt is the only football player on the show,” Cheryl answered: "We've got Apolo, you know, who is loved by everybody, and Shawn — the sports players on the show. So I think it’s going to be between them.”
Which brings up the age-old question, are race car drivers considered athletes? If so, then Season 5 winner Helio Castroneves should be added to the sports star threat list, too.
Of course, Cheryl’s right that everyone is good this year, which is kind of the point of bringing them back. It's possible the real threats will be the "underdogs" no one expects to do as well, like Bristol Palin or Pamela Anderson. Because if everyone expects the past winners to be amazing, especially the athlete winners, will we be that impressed when they get perfect scores?
