It’s always a curious part of the Dancing With the Stars process — how did this celeb get paired with that pro?

Executive producer Conrad Green told TV Guide that they took into consideration how much the Season 15 All-Stars celebs wanted to be re-paired with their original pros. If there was no overlap, they’d get the same partner (like Joey Fatone and Kym Johnson). However, he said, they also wanted to create some exciting new couples.

One of the main factors they had to consider was height and what the pairs would look like dancing together. Hence Helio Castroneves (5’8”) got paired with Chelsie Hightower (5’2 ½”), and the tallest celeb, Gilles Marini (6’1”), ended up with one of the tallest female pros, Peta Murgatroyd (5’7”).

It has to be fun to play dancing matchmaker behind the scenes, and Conrad shared some insight and expectations about the pairs. Here are few of his observations.

• On Gilles & Peta: "I think that's gotta be the lowest body fat couple we've ever had on the show.”

• On Drew Lachey and Anna Trebunskaya: "He's so funny. Anna's very funny and feisty. [...] Drew's got so much of that charm and the dance ability that I think they're gonna be a really good package."

• On Pamela Anderson and Tristan MacManus: "I think Tristan's warmth and the fact that he's so popular will really help Pam.”

• On Apolo Anton Ohno and Karina Smirnoff: "They also have this positivity and light about them. I can't wait for fans to see it.”

Check out all of his comments here. Do you like what you’ve seen and heard from the All-Stars couples so far or do you wish they had paired them differently? We really wanted Gilles to re-team with Cheryl Burke, but now we’re excited about the hotness that Gilles and Peta will bring. Plus, we didn’t even think about how Drew beat Anna and her partner Jerry Rice back on Season 2, and that will add a fun dynamic to their partnership. She’s dancing with the enemy!

Dancing With the Stars Season 15: All-Stars will premiere on Monday, September 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Check out the full All-Stars cast list here.
