The Dancing With the Stars All-Stars Semifinals have not been too kind to Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy. So far.

First, the judges decided their Performance Show "Surfer" Flamenco was more of a Paso Doble than a Flamenco, and Carrie Ann Inaba even gave it an 8, which is pretty harsh, especially for Week 9 of an All-Stars season. (Len Goodman’s 7 to Shawn, Mark and Derek got gasps last week.) That dance got the lowest score of the evening.

Then the judges didn't seem to find fault with the duo’s passionate Rumba, but still denied them a single 10, without really explaining what was missing. Kelly and Val are the only remaining couple who have yet to score a 10. Val spoke up to the judges after their Flamenco scores (as did his brother Maks, via Twitter) but when the Rumba scores came out, he just waved them away.

After the show, Val shared his frustrations with Zap2it. "I'm very happy and I'm cool with the judges and I think they got a very difficult job to do, but I think they need a little more consistency in their word. Their word ... has a lot of power to it, and should come with a great sense of responsibility. And I think they're very irresponsible this year."

Val said some of their comments and "inconsistent scoring and inconsistent comparing" makes him feel like he and Kelly are in a different competition from everyone else. "We're being crucified for things that others are embraced and complimented on — and vice versa, you know. That's frustrating because we've invested a lot of time in mechanics, and none of that was appreciated at all."

It does seem like the judges have their favorites, just like the fans at home. Do you believe they were unfair to Team Vally last night or do you think they were fair to challenge the Flamenco dance content and nitpick about whatever it was that prevented them from giving that extra half point on the Rumba? If Team Vally does not make it through tonight’s double elimination, will you blame the judges or the dancing?
