Getting the first boot on Dancing With the Stars is rough, but not as rough as angry soccer fans.
"Loveline" radio host "Psycho Mike" Catherwood danced with pro Lacey Schwimmer on DWTS Season 12. They did not do well (first to go!), but he was fun to watch. Now he's a married man, walking down the aisle with Rules of Engagement star Bianca Kajlich on December 16. Bianca is the ex-wife of U.S. soccer star Landon Donovan, and apparently Landon's fans are not happy that Mike is with Bianca.
Mike told TMZ that he’s been getting threats since they announced their engagement, with one Internet non-fan calling Mike a "muscle bound roided out greasemonkey that he was gonna stab in the heart." Mike said he and Landon are good but added, "If I in any way, even accidentally, have done anything to cause deleterious effects to the American soccer team ... I apologize wholeheartedly."
Landon and Bianca were married for three years before splitting in 2009. Landon talked about the split in 2010. "I think every comment I got when I told people I was getting divorced was, ‘I’m so sorry.' It is not always the case that it has to be ‘sorry.’ Sometimes you learn more from those moments than anything. For me that was certainly the case. It doesn’t have to be something ugly or nasty. It can be helpful and you can grow from it. That is what we both took from it."
Maybe Landon should compete on DWTS Season 16, since the show loves to cast people who have been through some kind of change and can use a confidence boost, etc. DWTS could use a different kind of soccer player after Hope Solo, and we're pretty sure Landon would do better than Psycho Mike.
